Pre-School opened in June 2001. It is a Committee run Pre-School with self-contained premises in a residential area on the grounds of St Michael with St Thomas Primary School (Although we are completly independent from the school).

 We have one main room with a small cloak room area for group work and have a ramp and a wheelchair accessible toilet for children with additional needs. We have a small playground which we can access via steps and by the side of our building if needed too.

During the Summer 2017 holidays, a metal fence was erected on the school grounds for Safeguarding reasons. It has been attached to our building in two places, one is on the side and one that runs from the front of our building to the year 5 classroom.

Spinney Pre-School is situated on the border of Ditton in Widnes. A maximum of 20 children may attend the Pre-School at any one time. The Pre-School is open each weekday from 08.30 until 11:30 (morning session) until 14:30 (for 30hour children), term time only..  

 All children have access to the secure outdoor play area. The ages of the children who attend can be between two years nine months to four years old, but we can take children who are in receipt of the two year old grant.

            Most children come from the local area and come from various backgrounds and speak English.

       The Pre-School employs three full time members of staff, all three hold level three or equivalent in a child care qualification. The staff hold

• Food Hygiene
• Three members of Staff and our supply member of staff are Paediatric First Aid trainined
• Two members of staff are qualified Senco’s holding a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Pre School practice.

We also have supply staff that are familiar with the routine and familiar to the children. We employ a member of staff to cover the dinner time period.
